According to reports, a Mumbai-based graphic designer was arrested after he took inspiration from the web show and allegedly created & sold 1000 counterfeit garba passes in the city in an attempt to earn Rs 30 lakh. That’s right! Police have reportedly arrested four men named Karan Shah, Kavish Patil, Darshan Gohil and Parvesh Nevrekar for their involvement in the scheme of making fake passes for the Durgadevi Navratra Utsav Samiti event in Borivali. Reports also stated that the original price range of the tickets was between Rs 3000-3800, and Karan Shah who was the man behind this scheme, made fake passes worth Rs 2600 rupees. After his arrest, Karan in his investigation reportedly admitted that he was inspired by ‘Farzi’ to conduct the crime and earn quick money. The OTT show is based on an artist, played by Shahid Kapoor, who decides to team with his best friend Firoz to make counterfeit money after failing to keep his grandfather's revolutionary printing press in business.
