Rhea Chakraborty's shocking revelation on facing work challenges in Bollywood post SSR's demise

Rhea Chakraborty who was arrested in 2020 for allegedly procuring drugs for her boyfriend and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput recently opened up about the after-effects of her imprisonment. In an interview with Mid-Day, when the actress was asked if people are still scared to hire her for projects in Bollywood, she reportedly said ‘I feel there is still a sense of fear on that front, but I’m hoping it normalises soon. A lot of it has calmed down, and honestly, the power of trolls is gone.’ Talking about trolls, Rhea was asked if people have become kinder in the post-pandemic world, and she said ‘I am not sure. I am still one of the most trolled people online. But in the eye of the storm, I saw kindness. I had friends rally behind me, help me and my family emotionally and monetarily. That gave me strength. Our society is patriarchal. But from my story, I have realised that the women-pull-each-other-down narrative might exist, but there is a strong wave of women standing together and flourishing.’ Further talking about the grief of losing someone so close to her heart, the ‘Chehre’ actress said ‘Your grief stays, and your life grows around it.’ In the same interaction, Rhea also talked about the unwarranted media coverage that she got in 2020 after Sushant’s death, her PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) and how it has take a lot of therapy for her to feel confident about her herself again.For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
