as posted by the channelDuring a Fox News appearance late last week, Republican Senator Rand Paul pushed a conspiracy theory that somehow Democrats are "seeding" COVID variants in the United States by "plucking" infected migrant children and placing them all over the country. Late last week, Republican Senator Rand, Paul went on Fox news to push a conspiracy theory about why we're seeing such crazy variants emerge from the Corona virus without giving too much away. I'll just let Rand Paul do the Talking here. Here's the clip.
So Democrats, according to what Ron Paul said here, Democrats are taking current children that they know are infected with COVID and I'm, I'm guessing some kind of COVID variant. So they're going down to the border towns. They're picking out who has COVID okay. You come with me, you're going Ohio. You've got it. Sweet. You're going to Minnesota. You're going to Maine. We're going to Oregon. Who knows how this conspiracy theory works, but it's completely utterly based fully. Uh, basically, well, it's false. It's false. It's false. That's way to say it. He's an idiot. In my opinion, he's a crazy person and this is dangerous. Xenophobic rhetoric coming out of this man's mouth. That just absolutely me off. Now, here is what I believe. He's talking about. You know, we have migrant detention facilities all over the country. You know, they're not just limited down there to the border.
Some of these migrants do have family members. They have been sent to them that live in other parts of the country. So I'm assuming he is trying to say that somehow, by doing those things, either sending them to a facility in a different state or sending them to relatives or whatever it is, uh, in some cases, orphanages or foster homes, but either way, he's attempting to say that by doing that, Democrats are responsible for all these COVID variants popping up everywhere. Uh, again, no, that's not why we have all these different COVID variants. We are experiencing a massive increase in COVID cases here in the United States, because you have morons who are pushing misinformation, muddying the waters and convincing people that the vaccines are not safe. That masks do not work. That social distancing is stupid. And that because of our personal freedoms and liberties, we don't have to do what's in the best interest, the public health interest of anyone around us that Dr.
Rand Paul is why we're seeing these COVID variants emerge because we can't shake the disease cause nobody wants to do what they need to do to stop the spread that's what's happening here in the United States. It is borderline racist and definitely Zena phobic to try to blame any of this on migrants on immigrants, on any particular race or creed of individual that ain't what's happening here. However, we are seeing this talking point emerge more and more Rand. Paul's not even the first person to push the migrant COVID theory. We have seen politicians from the state of Texas, try to say that, oh, our COVID surge is all because of the people coming across the border. If it weren't for that, we'd be doing just fine. Ron DeSantis here in the state of Florida is trying to say, it's the immigrants given us all this COVID no it's because you people suck at leadership. That's the problem. I mean, really that, that, that that's the problem here. The United States Republican suck at leading. We could have done a hell of a job nipping this thing in the bud last year when Donald Trump was president, he didn't take it seriously. He didn't want to do anything
To protect us. He didn't want to alarm people. He had said at one
Point, and of course, Republican governors followed suit. They politicize masks and we're in the situation we're in today. It's not because of immigrants. It's because of poor, stupid leadership from Republicans like Rand, Paul.
