Capitol Police Officers Sue Trump For Inciting January 6th Riot

Several of the police officers that responded to the Capitol riots on January 6th have filed a lawsuit against former President Trump alleging that he violated federal law by inciting the riot. The suit is also targeted at 20 different individuals who either helped organize the events that day or participated in them. This lawsuit will be an uphill battle, but it is a fight that needs to be fought. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

A group of seven Capitol police officers sued Donald Trump in civil court this week, along with about 20 other individuals from various extremist right-wing organizations, uh, for allegedly inciting the riot on January 6th, all seven of these officers were Capitol police officers who responded to the event. As we have heard stories from, uh, plenty of them, they received physical assault, verbal assault, and they're suing Trump, not because of what they experienced that day, but they're suing him according to the reports for violating the KU Klux Klan act of 1871, which basically says that, uh, conspiracies that interfere with Congress's constitutional duties are illegal.
