4:55Now PlayingSteve Bannon has gone off the rails even worse than usual this week, as he has started to attack one of Donald Trump's only allies in the US Senate. After President Biden announced during a press conference that there are 5 Republican senators who secretly support his agenda, Bannon speculated that Graham was one of them, and proceeded to call him a traitor and a scumbag. Farron Cousins explains the insanity taking place in the MAGA world.

So on Wednesday afternoon, president Biden held his press conference and, and during the press conference, he mentioned something interesting. He said that there's five Republican senators that he has talked to, that he swears have told him behind closed doors. Listen, we totally support you, but we can't publicly say it. And of course we can't vote for any of stuff, you know, for fear of Donald Trump setting a primary challenger against us next year. So, you know, uh, totally wanna support you. We love you. You're a good guy, but you know, we just, can't now first and foremost, before I get into how Steve Bannon responded or overreacted, I should say that doesn't seem quite right. Does it even if Biden is being honest about this story, how do we know these Republicans are being honest to Biden? Like no part of it smells. Right. Right.
I, I can't be the only one that thinks that like Biden's like, no, they all totally love me behind the seeds. They're telling me all the time. They just, you know, can't admit it and put I'm sorry. That kind of sounds like something Donald Trump would say, sorry if that offends anybody, but let's be real. I seriously doubt that that's happening. What I think is happening is that Biden was actually smart. Biden wanted to get a reaction out of the Trump people. And oh man, did he? Because Steve Bannon heard this and Steve Bannon on his podcast shortly after Biden's press conference went after the individual that he believes is in fact, the trader or as he puts it, the scumbag trader is what Bannon said, the five traders. And this is the scumbags and slime balls you have here in the nation's capital. He got five Republican senators have told him, they agree with what he's doing. They agree with what he's doing and they would vote and support him. But they're afraid of wait for it. The war room posse have enough guts to up, up and tell us Lindsay Graham, who you are. We need you guys to step up to the plate. Lindsay Graham.
All right. Let's uh, let's let's think about something for just a moment here. Donald Trump does not have a bigger defender in the United States Senate, then Lindsay Graham. Okay. But if you had to put money on who the turn coat is, the cowardly turn coat. I think Steve Bannon's right. I would bet that Lindsay Graham is one of those five P people because Lindsay Graham is a sniffling little coward that will latch onto whichever powerful person he feels will further his own career. He did it with John McCain, then McCain dies. So he does it with Donald Trump. Trump's not in power now. So, oh, maybe I gotta, I gotta latch on like a remora to Joe Biden. It actually does make perfect sense. Lindsay Graham could be playing both sides of the field with this, you know, publicly going out and saying Mitch McConnell, you have to promise to work with Donald Trump.
He's the party. And you, you have to be loyal to him while behind the scene saying, oh Mr. Biden, whatever you need, sir, I'm here. I wish I could support you publicly. I love you so much. It's a horrible Lindsay Graham impression, but I think the, uh, sentiment is spot on. So maybe Steve Bannon's, right? Maybe Lindsay is that mega trader scum ball, slime ball, all kinds of whatever insult balls you've got, but it makes sense. Given Lindsay Graham's history, the guy wants more power, more influence, and he wants to be the one kissing up the most to whoever he feels has the most power and can benefit him the greatest. So Lindsay Graham would clearly fit this mold. Ted Cruz may also fit this mold. Wouldn't put it past him, Marco Rubio, maybe too, perhaps even Rand Paul, eh, that's probably a bit of a stretch, right? But let's face it. There's so many Republican cowards who are willing to say and do whatever it takes to remain in power. That it's really hard to narrow them down, but Bannon may have hit it on the head. It could be Lindsay Graham. And to be honest, I think Joe Biden through this story out there, not to show that he's popular with Republicans, but to create the kind of chaos that he just created between Bannon and Lindsay Graham.
