Florida Newspaper Rips Republicans For Becoming Party Of White Nationalists

There's no question that the Republican Party has a white nationalist problem, and the "problem" is that they won't admit they have a problem. Instead of actively pushing these people away, Republicans offer weak excuses about why they "don't agree" with them and then change the subject. But recently, The Miami Herald called out the entire GOP about their refusal to do anything about their problem. Farron Cousins explains why they won't address the problem in a real manner.

Recently the Miami Herald the biggest newspaper, by the way, in the state of Florida, their editorial board called out the Republican party, both here in the state of Florida. And of course, throughout the rest of the country for their lingering white nationalist problem and their white nationalist problem is actually that they refuse to admit that they have a white nationalist problem. They think everything is peachy keen, honky, Dory, just as good as can be with their supporters, except maybe a couple of bad apples here and there. Right? And of course the editorial board came out with this shortly after, you know, the white national rally where Marjorie Taylor green and Paul Goza and Wendy Rogers from Arizona spoke. And then of course we had those Nazi little demonstrations throughout Orlando, not that long ago. And of course got the proud boy folks that had been arrested here, big, big white national us problem. I mean really in the state of Florida, but of course all over the rest of the country too. So let me read just this one line only that I wanna read from this, cuz I think it's very powerful. Republicans will no doubt continue to deny they have a white supremacy problem. And we can add this episode to the shamefulness of stream. Is connections already distinguishing Florida?

I don't disagree with you, but I'm gonna take it one for one further. This is not a uniquely Florida Republican problem. Okay. This is a uniquely Republican party problem. Now, now, as I've often said, I'm not saying all Republicans are white nationalists, but I am saying nearly all white nationalists identify as Republicans. That's not a coincidence. You know, the Southern poverty law center actually came out late last week and announced that, Hey, this is great for like the, you know, San second, third time year in a row, uh, hate group membership in the United States has actually dropped. And they also pointed out that it's because those views are no longer relegated to the hate groups. People no longer have to go to eight actual hate group to be accepted. Right. You know, don't have to go seek out the KKK to find people that share your views because those views are now mainstream to a degree in places like the Republican party. So yes, hate group membership is down. That's something to celebrate, unfortunately it's because they think they don't have to hide behind their white hoods anymore. They can take the hoods off and they can proclaim themselves to be proudly Republican. Yes. The Republican party has a white supremacy problem.

Another part of the problem in addition to their failure to even admit it is their failure to denounce it, right? I mean, we saw Marjorie Taylor green, a sitting member of Congress, along with Paul Gosar speak at that meeting recently here in Florida, Gosar of course appeared digitally Marjorie Taylor green in person. And then afterwards they're just like, well of course I don't agree with their views. Well, Marjorie Taylor green said that I think Gosar is a, uh, different story, but green was like, I don't agree with 'em, but like, Jesus, I'm gonna talk to everybody because I'm like, Jesus.

Yeah, Jesus wouldn't have done that. He'd have given him a talking that's for sure. But he wouldn't have been the, the friendly chat that you had with them saying basically come join our party. So that's what it is. They won't denounce it. You know, they'll, they'll give their little weak sheepish little like, well of course we leave it, but you know, Ugh, denounce it, come out and tell them you have no place in our party. There is no room here for you, people. We don't want you. That's what the Republican party is missing. They're not saying it because they want them there. And you know why that is because if they kick the white nationalist white supremacists out of their party, they don't have enough supporters left to win another election for the rest of their existence. That is why they're not truly denouncing these horrible people.
