4:16Now PlayingRepublican Representative Lauren Boebert admitted this past week that Republicans will gladly abuse their power if they take back the House of Representatives next year. In a tweet filled with typos and incorrect legal concepts, Boebert said that Republicans will deny Disney's extension of their "trademark" of "Micky" Mouse after Disney said that Florida's anti-LGBTQ legislation should never have become law. Farron Cousins explains what this means and offers corrections to Boebert's idiotic tweet.

Um, I did wanna start off by just mentioning the fact that obviously things look a little different right now. I have been in Las Vegas for the past week at a legal conference. So just so everybody knows, that's why things are a little weird here, but moving on last week, Lauren, Boebert sent out a tweet where she admitted that if Republic gain control of Congress again in the midterms, her party is absolutely going to abuse their power. She admitted, it said, this is what we're gonna do. And she did it in an error and typo filled tweet attacking the Disney corporation because of course, Disney is not happy. Uh, after public pressure about the anti LGBTQ legislation in the state of Florida, they said it should have never been signed into law. So Disney has become public enemy. Number one for the Republican, uh, Republican party.
Excuse me. So Boebert last Monday, tweets this out next year, the woke Disney lobbyists will ask Congress to extend Mickey mouse's trademark. I think not now first and foremost, as I'm sure you've seen on social media, she misspelled Mickey and I'm not even sure how that's possible there. There's literally a song decades old, older than Lauren bobber herself, where they, where they tell you how to spell his name. It's M I C K E Y M O U S E. But I, I guess she forgot it. And also it would be the copyright that they're extending, not the trademark for Mickey mouse. All of that aside. Yes. She's stupid. Yes. We know she's stupid. She says stupid things all the time. The problem is she basically just admitted that Republicans are gonna abuse their power.
They're gonna go after this company because politically speaking, they don't like what this company did. They don't like that this company called them out. So they're going to use their power to punish Disney, which is not a use of power. That is an abuse of power that we are talking about here. And she openly admitted it on Twitter. I mean, I don't understand how these Republicans and I'm not talking about the long makers. I'm talking about anybody out there, a card carrying registered Republican. How can you look at like this and still think that's my party. Hell yeah, brother. Th this is absurd. This is insane. They're they're willing to let Mickey mouse not be right because Disney didn't like one piece of legislation in the state of Florida that was passed by politicians. That by the way, Disney helped fund to get into office in the first place. The, I, I don't know. I don't
Know folks. I sometimes I don't even have the words because it's so infuriatingly stupid what these Republicans are doing. And of course, we all know what's really gonna happen. The Republicans are not going to abuse their power in this way, against this corporation on this issue, will they abuse their power? Hell yeah, they will. It's what they do by best. But Disney will send out their lobbyists. Lobbyists will have their checkbooks ready and they'll write enough checks. They'll send enough money out there that they're gonna get their copyright. Like that's not even a thing., that's really at risk. Disney's gonna be fine. Even if they lose the copyright of it. Guess what? Disney still gonna be fine. But I think we should really take it seriously. When sitting politicians tell us they're gonna abuse their power. When they show us who they are, we need to believe them.
