DeSantis Could Face Criminal Charges Over Migrant Stunt

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis used taxpayer money this week to fly two chartered planes filled with undocumented immigrants to Martha's Vineyard as a political stunt meant to both satiate his base and "stick it" to a liberal state. But the plan backfired when the people of Martha's Vineyard actually treated the migrants with kindness and began helping them. Apparently not everyone is as ugly as the modern GOP, as Farron Cousins explains.

By now I'm sure everybody is aware of the fact that this week, my idiot fascist Republican governor, Ron DeSantis down here in Florida, decided to pay 12 million from the Florida taxpayers to fund two private jets, to send 50 undocumented immigrants from Texas up to Martha's vineyard. Because as he explained during a press conference, you know, Florida's not gonna be a sanctuary state. And so we're gonna ship these people to those sanctuary cities, sanctuary areas in the country, you know, to kind stick it to the libs. Right? Well, first and foremost, what DeSantis admitted to when he said, yeah, we're the ones who paid for it and we'll do it again. You just admitted that you're a trafficker. You are trafficking people, people who, by your admission, aren't even allowed to be in the United States. So if, if, if you were gonna send them somewhere and you, you hate immigrants, why didn't you, why don't you pay to send them back home?

Right? So first and foremost, your whole little political stunt doesn't even make sense. Second of all, it might actually implicate you in two different criminal activities. Of course, the trafficking and the misuse of taxpayer funds, both of which are very prosecutable. Um, but more importantly, the stunt backfired because do you know what happened when these migrants who by the way, were lied to about where they were going and why they were going there? You know what happened when they got off the plane over there in Martha's vineyard dropped off the community, rallied around them. They didn't freak out and panic and say, oh no, there's immigrants. Now I see now I see the light. I agree with Republicans. I'll never vote for a liberal again. They didn't do that. You know what they did. They created a little mobile response unit. Like you see them do after natural disasters, they scrambled the community together. They put together 50 beds, they got these people, food, they got them clothing. They got them shelter. They took care of them. By now, get this. This is wild by treating them like human beings. There were children among those people that Ron DeSantis tried to use as political props, children.

And he wanted to set an example. He wanted to say that down here in Florida, even though these people weren't from Florida down here, we don't tolerate your kind. We'll send you up there, there those Hollywood liberals, the area where Obama goes on vacation. How about that? We'll stick it to them. And those people up in Massachusetts said, oh, Hey, you guys look hungry. Can we help you? You look tired. Can we give you a bed?

You need a roof over your head. Let me help you with that. So down here in this so-called Bible belt, where they allegedly lived by the teachings of Jesus Christ and the teachings of Christianity, they cast out the immigrants. They cast out the hungry, they did not feed them. They did not clothe them. They offered them nothing. Instead. They tried to use them for their own personal political gain. And then up there in the allegedly godless, Northeast, that bastion of liberal and elitism, they did exactly what the Bible tells us to do. So who are the real heathens here? And I'm using this language, I'm using that analogy to show you that once again. Yeah. We're in the Bible belt and there ain't nothing Christlike about anything that happens in this God forsaken area of the country, because that's what this is. These are people who wanna wrap themselves up in the Bible, pretend to be holier than thou say that we live our life according to Christ, but they're the biggest bigots.

And xenophobes that we have anywhere in the United States of America, these people are truly disgusting and deplorable human beings. And Ron DeSantis tried to make a point of showing the world that, but what did this country do? They said, we see your bigotry, governor DeSantis. We see who you are. And we are gonna show you that we are better than that. And we are not gonna cast these people out. We are not gonna treat them as political paws. We are gonna band together and treat them like the human beings. They are DeSantis. Won't learn anything.
