5:19Now PlayingIn a post over the weekend, Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed that Nancy Pelosi was "complicit" in the January 6th Capitol Riot because she didn't call in the National Guard (which she doesn't have the authority to do), while also claiming that the people who stormed the Capitol were "nonviolent." These two statements cannot exist together, and it is a good example of how Greene and others twist themselves into knots to downplay the events while also blaming Democrats. Farron Cousins discusses this.

Marjorie Taylor Green is really struggling right now to keep her story straight about what actually happened on January 6th, 2021. Was it a violent insurrection? Was it just a big misunderstanding? Or are pe uh, people being politically persecuted? Or did Nancy Pelosi totally screw the pooch? Because according to Marjorie Taylor Green, it's literally all of the above in a tweet she sent out on Christmas Eve, of course, because this is what everybody was thinking about on Christmas. Marjorie Taylor Green had this to say, 1000 people have been charged for J six with possibly thousands more to be charged. Most of these people were non-violent, but Nancy Pelosi refused to bring in the National Guard ignoring Intel briefs and requests for the NG by Capitol Police and President Trump Pelosi is complicit, okay? So a bunch of non-violent people, as she said, non-violent people. But we also still needed the National Guard, which apparently on that day and on that day, only Nancy Pelosi was in charge of.
Now that's news to me because last I checked, the Speaker of the House has absolutely no authority whatsoever to call in the National Guard, but Marjorie Taylor Green as there telling us that Nancy Pelosi should have done this. She is in fact complicit in the attack, which also, according to Marjorie Taylor, green wasn't an attack, no God no. These were just, you know, non-violent people showing up because they weren't happy. But we also needed the National Guard to protect us from the non-violent people. And that's where Nancy Pelosi didn't call them in, even though she doesn't have the, a authority to call them in. I'm confused as hell and I imagine everybody else's too, because none of that makes any sense. Like it's one thing to get one part of it wrong, but to lay out multiple different items and get every single one of them wrong in a single tweet that takes talent.
It also tells us that Marjorie Taylor Greene does in fact know the truth of what happened that day. Cuz you can't get every answer wrong unless you know what the right answer is. So she knows exactly what she's doing and what she's actually doing, and this is very important, is she's priming us for an investigation, as we know, as part of her agreement with, uh, Kevin McCarthy to support him in his bid to become Speaker of the House. Ne uh, uh, Marjorie Taylor Green, excuse me, has been given the authority, the ability, the permission to investigate whatever the hell she wants, whenever the hell she wants to do it. That is her agreement with Kevin McCarthy. He made a deal with the devil in order to become the House speaker.
And that looks now like it may not even happen, but Green is setting the stage right now to blame everything on Nancy Pelosi. She had already done this, not just multiple times over the last two years, but she had actually done it the week before as well. Blaming all of this on Nancy Pelosi for not using authority, that she doesn't actually have that authority, by the way, did rest with Donald Trump and he did not send an order to send in the National Guard as it was happening. However, green wants to make Pelosi the focus of January 6th. Pelosi is right now the big boogeyman and has been for many years of the Republican Party, as I've repeatedly said. You know, we are, we are basically South Alabama right here. We get to see all their political ads. All of the political ads I saw from this past season.
All the Republicans acted like they were running against Nancy Pelosi. She was the star in all of their ads, more so than President Biden. So when Marjorie Taylor Green is doing here is trying to say, Pelosi's the one responsible for January 6th, but don't you worry because Green is gonna investigate it. Get to the bottom of what Pelosi did that day, which of course was what everybody else did, which was fear for their lives. And wonder why in the hell the Capitol police weren't doing their jobs. Uh, plenty of them did, don't get me wrong.
