Trump Forced Out Of Hibernation To Revive His Dying Campaign

A new report from The Guardian says that Donald Trump is planning to end his hibernation and will finally start touring the country to revive his failing presidential campaign. Trump has not held a single event since announcing his run more than two months ago, and his poll numbers have fallen consistently in polling since the announcement. But he thinks he can undo all of that, even as his legal problems get much worse. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

According to a new report from The Guardian, Donald Trump is apparently coming out of hibernation, and he is about to go on a multi-state blitz promoting his third presidential campaign. Now, as of today, it has officially been two months and one day since Donald Trump announced that he was running for president a third time, and between now and that day, back then in November, he's done nothing. And the man has literally played golf. He's, you know, done a couple things at Mar-a-Lago at events that were already scheduled, not for his campaign, you know, showing up at, uh, parties that people were having and saying, Hey, here I am, look at me. But he hasn't done a rally, you know, the hallmark of who Trump is. He hadn't done it, and he had plenty of opportunity to do it too. And during that same time period, while Trump has been sitting playing golf and going to parties, his poll numbers have continued to sink in every single poll that has come out since he announced he was running for president, his poll numbers have gotten worse.

In fact, in many polls right now, Ron DeSantis is the very clear Republican front runner. And I guess finally something clicked with Donald Trump and he was like, wait a minute. He's not even running for president and he's beating me. Maybe I need to take off the golf cleats, go put on a suit and hold a rally somewhere. I, I guess that's what people want me to do. There's another thing of course that has been happening in the two months since Trump announced he was running for president. And that is of course we got a special prosecutor that is looking into both his document scandal as well as the attempts to overturn the 2020 election. His organization, the Trump organization, has been found guilty of tax evasion and find $1.6 million. He and his children are still facing their portion of the 250 million lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

His lawyers have been threatened with sanctions for filing the same idiotic motions in court that have been repeatedly struck down. He is still facing civil lawsuits over the January 6th Capitol Riot. He is facing other investigations, the one in Georgia, the grand jury just wrapped up last week. So yeah, the guys had a couple legal issues pop up here and there, so you know what? Maybe that's why he is like, I'm gonna keep quiet. I'm just, I'm not gonna be in the headlines. Um, but that's not how Trump is. I don't think any of this played into his decision at all. I think Donald Trump really genuinely thought he could announce he was running for president and everybody else would just go the hell away. But that didn't happen. And he thought, okay, well at first he could take a bit, it'll gain some traction. I don't have to do it. You think people already love me? And then it dawned on him recently,

Or maybe somebody had to drill it into his head, they don't just automatically love you, you actually have to get out there and do the work. So he's gonna be back doing rallies. Uh, they did announce, you know, they're putting together their South Carolina team, whatever that means. We all know that Donald Trump is not hiring qualified people to work in his campaign. He doesn't even have a campaign manager. He's gonna stack it with, you know, yes. People who will just agree to whatever crazy thing he says and does. And of course, then there's the other side of the coin, and that is when Donald Trump goes out there and does rallies, he makes headlines for all the wrong reasons. It makes people dislike him more. So damned if you do, damned if you don't, right? Because if he sits down there at Mar-a-Lago and does nothing, is poll number sink. But if he goes out there and does rallies, those people that he would need to vote for him in a general election, not a primary buddy general, are gonna be even more turned off. So rallies may help his chance at winning a primary, but they're gonna kill his chances of winning a general election.
