Donald Trump on Monday raged against the media because he's so angry about them. Mocking his new nickname for Ron DeSantis, which if you haven't heard it, it was supposed to be Meatball Ron. Yeah, I gotta hand it to you. It's not bad. Certainly better than Ron Des Sanctimonious. But it came out Monday that it was gonna be Meatball Ron. That is what he is decided on. He is going with Meatball Ron, and he spent a lot of time working with his staff to come up with that name. That's what the media reported. Well, apparently that Trump off. So Trump gets on Truth social yesterday, and he says this, all of the fake news is reporting that I spend large amounts of my time coming up with a good nickname for Ron Des Sanctimonious, who is obviously going to give the presidential thing a shot. They are all 100% wrong.

I don't even think about it. A very unimportant subject to me says the man who came up with the nicknames, little Marco Rubio lying, Ted Cruz, crooked, Hillary Clinton, sleepy, Joe Biden, sleepy Eyes, Chuck Todd, and the list goes on and on and on. Low IQ Don Lemon. Do, do you really need more? You spend a lot of time coming up with stupid nicknames for people you don't like. And again, meatball Ron is actually a little bit better than Ron Des sanctimonious. First and foremost, your base doesn't even know what sanctimonious means. I forget even trying to spell it because I think that's way out in left field for them, but they can't even define it either. And yet you're out here, Ron des sanctimonious. It doesn't have a good flow meatball. Ron. Hey, I get behind that. I'll call him Meatball Ron. And by the way, um, just to the point of, oh, I don't spin it, it's very unimportant to me.

There was actually reports weeks ago, actually, months ago at this point, um, before you came out with Ron Desc Damons, um, that said you'd narrowed it down to Potato Boy, uh, was the nickname at the time. I did a segment on it. Um, but yeah, he was gonna start calling Ron DeSantis Potato Boy, which I actually think's even better than Meatball, Ron. Of course, maybe I'm just hungry and I like potatoes and meatballs. I don't know, but I think Potato Boy's pretty good. I I, I not gonna quibble with Meatball Ron, but Ron Des Sanctimonious is weak. And of course, after the Potato Boy story came out, that's when he started calling him Ron Des Sanctimonious. And now he's mad because the media's trashing it because it is stupid. But he does spend time thinking about this. There have been far too many reports since, uh, Donald Trump came onto the national political stage where you have these insiders that worked with him in the White House. They worked with him on the campaign. They do sit around and they come up with these nicknames, they workshop them. He will go up to people and say, Hey, uh, what if I start calling this person this? While he was in office. And the staff would either say Yay or nay, maybe offer their own suggestions. You do spend a lot of time thinking about it. And here's the weird thing, to his credit, which is not something I say often about Trump, but to his credit, the nicknames work, they really do. We all know crooked Hillary Clinton, whether you like her or not. You know that phrase Lion Ted Cruz. I see Democrats, you know, progressives, liberals on Twitter, call Ted Cruz that all the time it worked. Little Marco Rubio again, I see people on the left say that all the time and other, you know, Trump supporters on the right still say it. So we can mock and laugh at these nicknames all we want. We can mock Trump for spending so much time working on them, but at the end of the day, it's not that bad in term of, in terms of a branding strategy for your opponents, because whether we like them or not, we all remember them and that's kind of proof that they work.
