Trump Orders Republicans To Defund The DOJ To Save Him From Prosecution

Donald Trump this week ordered Republicans in Congress to defund the DOJ (which includes the FBI) so that they don't have the money to continue their investigations into his activities. This is the most obvious sign of guilt that Trump could have given the world, and it puts House Republicans in a position where they can't win, no matter what they do. Donald Trump is echoing the calls made earlier this week by Republican representative Jim Jordan and demanding that the Department of Justice, and of course by extension the F B I, which is part of the DOJ, immediately be defunded. Here is what Donald Trump posted on truth. Social Republicans in Congress should defund the DOJ and F B I until they come to their senses. The Democrats have totally weaponized law enforcement in our country and are viciously using this abuse of power to interfere with our already under siege elections. Now that post on truth social was an all caps because gosh darn it, Donald Trump means business Republicans in Congress get off your butts and defund the DOJ and the F FBI because he doesn't realize the F FBI's a part of the doj. So if you defunded the doj, you would also buy extension, be defunding the F B I.

Little redundant, but it's all right. As I said earlier this week, as we had previously talked about, Jim Jordan made the same call. We've gotta defund these agencies, he says, that are acting so egregiously. Jordan said this egregious abuse of power that Trump is referring to, that, that Jim Jordan is referring to is nothing more than investigating Donald Trump for attempting to conn the entire country by stealing the 2020 election. That, I mean, that's what's happening. Let, let's be real, let's be honest. Donald Trump wants the F B I defunded because they're investigating him for both the election stuff and the stolen document stuff. That's it. This tough on crime Republican party that loves to talk about rampant crime out of control in liberal cities, which by the way, is a myth, want to defund the police. But gosh darn it, Donald Trump can do whatever the hell he wants, whenever the hell he wants to, whoever the hell he wants, including the entire country Senate Republicans have already made it clear, we're not gonna do this. We're not gonna include any defunding of the Department of Justice as part of our debt ceiling negotiations. So this plan that Republicans have that Donald Trump is demanding is pretty much dead on arrival, which puts Republicans between a Iraq and a hard place, which is where they've found themselves, uh, pretty much all year. In fact, the only report that he's already put out actually said that the DOJ was justified in their pursuit of the investigations that they conducted into the rabid right wingers that were interrupting school board meetings. So, so far, Jim Jordan's done the opposite and proved that, hey, the DOJ is actually doing a dang good job of doing their job. So that claim is false. But here's what happens now to Republicans, as I said, the rock and the hard place part. Either you go along with Donald Trump's demand, it wasn't a request, it's a demand that you defund the Department of Justice and the fbi. So you go through with that and you pull funding away from these government agencies. Democrats will have a field day with that in the 2024 elections. So that is a losing issue for Republicans if you are successful.

On the other hand, if you don't do it even after Donald Trump told you to do it, then you run the risk of off his MAGA base, then they may not show up for you in 2024. They may try to hold it against you. Trump may attack you personally for not doing it, in which case that's gonna hurt the Republican turnout. But then again, if you, if you do do it, then that's gonna hurt the moderate Republican turnout, and that could cost you the House, the Senate, and the White House. So there's no victory here for Republicans.
