One of Donald Trump's favorite things to do is to attack the prosecutors that are investigating him. And of course, the judges that are overseeing the cases that the prosecutors have brought. He loves to not just attack the judges and prosecutors, but he loves to attack their families. He loves to attack their friends, he loves to call them corrupt. But there's one judge that Donald Trump has decided to apparently carve out an exception for, and that happens to be Judge Eileen Cannon, who of course down here in Florida, is overseeing Donald Trump's documents trial brought by the federal government. Judge Cannon has a hearing coming up this week with both Donald Trump and, uh, his accomplice, Walt Nada. And in that hearing coming up later this week, it could be determined how long this trial will be postponed. Trump's lawyers have tried to get the judge to postpone it indefinitely, specifically until after the 2024 election, because they believe that after that election, Trump will be president and he'll just pardon himself and it'll all go away.

Prosecutors actually wanted it delayed until December because they need a little bit more time to get things ready. And that hearing, of course, will be later this week. We will get our decision, but Donald Trump decided that his usual tactic of attacking the hell out of judges and, you know, basically almost getting himself slapped with gag orders repeatedly wasn't the way to go with Judge Cannon. He realized you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar. So this past weekend on Fox News, Donald Trump decided to suck up to Judge Cannon, who let's not forget Donald Trump nominated as a federal judge to begin with. He's the reason she has that position. So here is what Donald Trump said about Judge Cannon on Fox this weekend. I know it's a very, a very highly respected judge, a very smart judge, and a very strong judge. But she's very smart and very strong and loves our country. We need judges that love our country so they do the right thing.

Oh, that last little line really gives up the game, doesn't it? Folks? Donald Trump want ju uh, wants judges who do the right thing. And in this particular instance, according to Donald Trump and his legal team, the right thing is to postpone this trial until after the 2024 election. That's what Trump means when he says do the right thing. It's a marching order for the judge. Like that is what Trump is doing. He's trying to butter her up so that she will do the right thing. I mean, you can't necessarily call this interference, but certainly reads like its interference, right? I mean, Trump's trying to tell the judge like, Hey Judge,

You're very strong, you're very smart, you're very wonderful. I like you a lot. You love America, I love America. So do the right thing cuz Judge Cannon, like everybody else in this country, knows what will happen the second she goes against Donald Trump. And maybe that's what's needed. Maybe Judge Cannon needs to come out and for once in her career, for which, by the way, throughout her entire judicial career, she's only overseen four criminal trials that combined lasted for fewer than 14 days. So, criminal trial is not her area of expertise. She does not have very much, you know, experience in that arena. But if she were to come out and not give Donald Trump what he wants, then he's gonna start attacking her. And if he starts attacking her, then just, maybe she'll be like, you know what? I actually don't owe you anything. You can't do anything to me.
