The pair had met in 2016 at a dinner part during the presidential campaign and just thirteen days later, 24-year-old Ashley married 54-year-old Doug, who had lost his wife nine months earlier.
Benefield has been charged with second-degree murder and is currently out on bond (after she spent two weeks in jail). The jury was selected on July 22nd, 2024. Let's watch this trial together.
