Nancy is the 84-year-old mother of NBC Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing from her home in the Catalina Foothills area near Tucson, Arizona, on February 1st, 2026. She was last seen by family members at her residence around 9.30–9.45 PM on January 31st, 2026. Her children had brought her home, where she lives alone. The next morning, when she failed to attend church, family checked on her, discovered her missing, and reported it to the Pima County Sheriff's Department around noon.

Authorities found "concerning" and "grave" evidence at the home, designating it an active crime scene. Sheriff Chris Nanos stated she "did not leave on her own" and has significant mobility issues (unable to walk far independently), sharp mental faculties, and requires daily medications. Homicide detectives are involved, with foul play suspected.

Extensive searches (ground teams, K9 units, drones, helicopters, aircraft) have been underway, but as of February 2nd, 2026, she remains missing.
