6:04Now PlayingIn this video you will learn about the short-lived state: the Polish Soviet Socialist Republic. This state is actually a non-existing state, since it was the Provisional Polish Revolutionary Committee (PolRevKom) that had to do the preparations. This committee was led by Feliks Dzierzynski (founder of the dreaded Cheka) and had to make the Polish lands (that previously belonged to the Russian Empire) into a Soviet Socialist Republic: the Polish SSR. This all happened during the Polish–Soviet War. The Polish SSR came to an end after the Battle of Białystok (1920).
