Abortion-related ballot measures could be a "real challenge" for Republicans in the 2024 election, NPR's Asma Khalid tells Washington Week moderator Jeffrey Goldberg.

"The fear Republicans have is that voters will turn out for this abortion issue and while they're there ... vote for the Democratic Party," she said.

Abortion access could be on the ballot in 2024 in a number of states, including Arizona and Florida. and was a driving issue for Democrats in Tuesday's off-year election, with voters in the swing state of Ohio passing an amendment codifying the right to an abortion in the state’s constitution.
