Jimmy notes that the company "built a billion-dollar valuation on names that can walk," and that after Candace Owens left in March 2024, she "walked into the open market and built a show that competes with theirs" that now "blows theirs away," generating 805 million views and adding 10.9 million followers since January 2025.
The two point out that Daily Wire's "greatest asset" was a person who "can walk, take the audience with them, and run a competing show from a laptop the next morning," and that Candace Owens herself tweeted that "the Daily Wire also suffered from a Ben Shapiro problem" and that "his brand has become toxic to growth." The segment concludes that Daily Wire's attempt to run a newsroom, film studio, children's streaming platform (Bentkey), and consumer goods business simultaneously required "limitless capital" they didn't have, and that "this is what it is today: a failing media empire spiraling in the wrong direction."
