Macgregor tells Jimmy that if Trump goes to Beijing with anything other than an attitude characterized by cordiality and humility, he's going to be embarrassed, and that China is "not going to accommodate on energy"—instead tightening export controls on critical minerals and reducing its holdings of US treasuries.
He predicts that the US will restart the air and missile campaign within 48 hours, which will halt all movement through the strait and permanently alienate most of the world against the United States, especially China. Macgregor concludes that "Beijing is normally always trying to accommodate" the US on tariffs and other issues, but that "this is a sea change in Beijing's relations with Washington."
