9:12Now PlayingThis week’s PatreonJeremy Corbyn interview
Beirut-based journalist Rania Khalek joins Katie to react to some trolls online, who were happy to hear about Israel's recent terrorist act carried out on Hezbollah. Rania has this to say; "If somebody in the mainstream media were to celebrate an act of self defense by a Palestinian against Israeli soldiers, trying to murder their family, they would be immediately fired. Arabs certainly aren't allowed to celebrate the people they view as resistance fighters across the region."
They're completely censored. From Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, if they dare do that. Meanwhile, my 'For You' page today has been just a tsunami of Israelis and their supporters making memes out of this, celebrating this, cackling about this. I mean, it's really disgusting. You know, they accuse us of celebrating death and, celebrating murder and celebrating terrorism."
Rania Khalek is a Middle East-based journalist for Breakthrough News, where she hosts the show Dispatches. She also co-hosts the weekly Freedom Side livestream with Eugene Puryear.
