Former Mayor and U.S. Rep. Dennis Kucinich joins Katie to discuss what he would do if elected to Congress. Kucinich wants to see an overhaul of the American economy and trade agreements that works for the people of the U.S., not just the rich.
Kucinich says; "On a domestic level, I certainly want to see America's industries brought back. Now, the way you do that, we have to change these trade agreements. The trade agreement with China was a disaster. I voted against China trade when I was in the House. I led the effort against it. I led the effort against the WTO because I saw that it lacked workers rights, human rights, environmental quality principles.
I'll return to Congress to take a stand for economic growth of the American people, for jobs, for education, for healthcare, to make sure that childcare comes into the equation because so many families are having difficulty right now."
Dennis Kucinich served as mayor of Cleveland from 1977 to 1979. and as a U.S. Representative from Ohio's 10th congressional district from 1997 to 2013, during which time he introduced Articles of Impeachment against both President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney for lying to take the US into war against Iraq. He ran for president in 2004 and 2008 and is now running as an independent for Ohio's 7th congressional district in 2024.
