A probe was launched into the mayor's handling of the Breonna Taylor case. Louisville Metro Council filed an order to launch an inquiry. Council stated the probe would be "Into the action & inaction" of the mayor. Inquiry into the death of Taylor and protests that followed. Nearly 100 protesters arrested at KY Attorney General's home. Protesters are facing felony charges of intimidation. LMPD stated the charges are based on trespassing at A.G.'s property.
Family of George Floyd filed a federal wrongful death suit. Attorney Ben Crump stated the suit seeks to set precedence. Family Attorney stated, "This is a teachable moment, a tipping point." Floyd died after officers pressed a knee into his neck and chest. The suit comes in the wake of newly released bodycam footage.
NYPD says they used "Restraint" during the unrest, but the video refutes that. NYT: more than 60 videos show the use of force on protesters. Videos were taken following unrest after George Floyd's death. NYT report: A review of the video suggests the attacks were unwarranted. Asst. Commissioner: There were isolated incidents of misconduct. Four officers were disciplined for their conduct at the protests. Internal affairs is investigating 51 cases of use of force.
