3:29Now PlayingBodycam video released shows a fatal officer-involved shooting of a Salt Lake City man who was armed with a pistol on March 26, 2022. The Salt Lake City Police Department received sixteen 911 calls reporting a man standing in the middle of the road and pointing a gun at people. While officers pursued the suspect in a car chase he crashed his vehicle, which was reportedly stolen. As the two officer's pulled up and exited their vehicles to take cover, the man exited his vehicle and began firing shots while running towards the officers. Officers fired many shots at the suspect, hitting him and causing him to fall to the ground. Officers then worked to remove the handgun from his reach before administering life-saving medical services. The man succumbed to his wounds after 15-20 minutes of rendering medical services.
