Douglas Benefield had several gunshot wounds to his leg, arm, and chest area. Ashley Benefield claims she shot him in self-defense after months of alleged abuse. She was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. Ashley Benefield made bail and has been living with family and her daughter since the crime.
