5:03:24Now PlayingJose Soto-Escalera was found guilty of first-degree murder for the death of his 23-year-old girlfriend, Tania Wise, and their unborn child. Wise was found face down in a drainage ditch in St. Lucie County, Florida on August 24, 2018. She was eight and a half months pregnant when she was killed. Soto-Escalera was married to another woman at the time of the murders. According to witnesses, Soto-Escalera gave Wise money for an abortion, but the victim did not follow through with the procedure, choosing to have the baby. The jury will decide whether or not the defendant will receive the death penalty.
