8:11Now PlayingA former co-worker of Derek Pedrin took the stand after allegedly approaching the defense during trial because he believed “Derek was lying.” The witness testified that Derek told him he would often take Xanax before work and recalled seeing a white residue in a bathroom after Derek had been inside. He also claimed he once heard Derek say he had “popped his daughter in the mouth.” Derek’s 6-year-old son, Alexavier Pedrin, later died, and an autopsy determined the child suffered blunt force trauma, with a sedative also contributing to his death. Derek’s girlfriend, Josie Dikeman, is currently charged with first-degree intentional homicide in connection with Alexavier’s death.
