Judicial Immunity Denied for Judge who Searched Home (Gibson v. Goldston)

A West Virginia District Court has ruled that Family Court Judge Louise Goldston did not have Judicial Immunity when she executed a search of Matthew Gibson's home. Like Qualified Immunity, Judicial Immunity protects Judges from lawsuits. Judge Goldston will now have to face a trial over whether she violated Mr. Gibson's civil rights with her extra-judicial search.
