Someone commented that the number of people seeking asylum in the UK is declining. This isn't true the number of people granted asylum has steadily risen over the past decade to a high of 48,540 in 2021. So there hasn't been a steady decline in fact the opposite has happened. Although admittedly this number is dwarfed by the numbers of people coming here as other forms of migrant (nearly a million visas were issued last year for people to live here, the highest ever).
