3:14Now PlayingFather Joseph Quigly, who held various 'prestigious' roles, such as national education advisor for Roman Catholic schools in the United Kingdom, sexually and physically abused a boy while he was a parish priest in Warwickshire. The priest, described as a "sexual sadist," rubbed the teenager's inner thigh after making him wear a gym outfit, take showers with the door open, and inflicted 'sadomasochistic' punishments, for example, locking him in the church's crypt. He additionally beat the boy with a hurling stick at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Hampton-on-the-Hill. He was later forced to resign from the priesthood in disgrace. He denied all charges against him, including; sexual activity with a child, sexual assault, false imprisonment and cruelty. The jury at Warwick Crown Court took less than four hours to find him guilty of all charges by a majority verdict of 11-1.
