Pakistan Threatens Google, Wikipedia for Sharing ‘Sacrilegious Content’

Pakistan has sent threatening notices to internet giants Google and Wikipedia over 'sacrilegious content' such as caricatures of Prophet Mohammed and an 'unauthentic' version of the Quran found on the Google Play store. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) issued a statement on Twitter, declaring concern over "misleading search results" associated with the "present Khalifa of Islam," referring to a Wikipedia article portraying the current leader of the Ahmadiyya community, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, as a Muslim. The unauthentic Quran that raised the alarm amongst Pakistani authorities is a variation of the holy book used by the Ahmadiyya community, an extremely persecuted minority in Pakistan.
