The draft resolution, titled "Never Again Is Now: Protect, Preserve and Strengthen Jewish Life in Germany," directly addresses what it calls "the alarming extent of antisemitism... based on immigration from the countries of North Africa and the Near and Middle East, where antisemitism and hostility toward Israel are widespread." This unprecedented move, supported by both the left-wing coalition government and right-wing opposition, calls for ending public funding for entities engaging in antisemitism or boycotting Israel, while also addressing legal loopholes in criminal, residence, asylum, and citizenship laws. While Jewish leaders like Gady Gronich welcomed the resolution, it has sparked debate, with German jurist Kai Ambos criticizing the singling out of Islamic antisemitism, prompting Arab-Israeli author Ahmad Mansour to counter that "We should look at EVERY form of antisemitism and warn against it, both our own and that of immigrants."
