Officials confirmed they have a 14-year-old suspect in custody. Apalachee High School is about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta. President Joe Biden was briefed on the shooting that took place on Wednesday.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp provided and update as they investigate the shooting. Kemp said in a statement on X, "I have directed all available state resources to respond to the incident at Apalachee High School and urge all Georgians to join my family in praying for the safety of those in our classrooms, both in Barrow County and across the state."
