5:38Now PlayingIn a significant development, two officials have resigned, accusing the Biden administration of lacking transparency about Israel's obstruction of humanitarian assistance to Gaza. Alexander Smith, a senior advisor on gender, maternal health, and nutrition for the U.S. Agency for International Development, resigned after his presentation on Palestinian maternal and child mortality was canceled. Smith's resignation letter criticized the administration for not assessing Palestinians equally. Similarly, Stacy Gilbert, a State Department official, resigned following the release of a report claiming Israel had increased humanitarian access to Gaza, contrary to evidence showing aid flow had nearly ceased. This brings the total number of public resignations over the issue to nine, with reports suggesting a dozen more have left quietly.
