4:20Now PlayingThe Senate Local Government and Elections Committee delayed a vote Wednesday, March 14th, on SF 2391, a measure funding a $975 million new Vikings stadium. The proposal would require the state to contribute $398 million dollars to the project through the establishment of electronic pull-tabs.
Under the measure, sponsored by Sen. Julie Rosen, R-Fairmont, the city of Minneapolis would contribute $150 million to the stadium construction, and the Minnesota Vikings would pay $427 million dollars.
During the hearing, members raised concerns about the state's contribution and the expansion of charitable gambling. The panel delayed action on the bill and laid it on the table.
