22:10Now PlayingWith examples of wire-transfer fraud directed at Minnesota seniors, Rep. Joe Atkins, DFL-Inver Grove Heights, and Sen. Terri Bonoff, DFL-Minnetonka, outlined their proposal Tuesday, March 5, designed to protect potential victims.
Among the provisions, the proposal would require wire transfer companies to confirm that the location provided by the sender is the location where the money is transferred. The wire transfer companies also would be required to provide a confirmation of the money sent and the name of the person who picked up the transaction.
