In September, the city of St. Paul followed suit, and Duluth is considering a similar ordinance. A bill that would override local government’s authority to set labor standards, the Uniform State Labor Standards Act, is making its way through the House and the Senate. The Senate bill’s author, Senator Jeremy Miller, R-Winona, joins Capitol Report moderator Shannon Loehrke to discuss the measure.
