12:36Now PlayingThe Minnesota Senate gave its final approval Monday, April 29, to a bill closing a loophole that prevents county prosecutors from pursing rape charges against a spouse.
In presenting the bill, Senator Michelle Benson, R-Ham Lake, recognized the effort and courage of Jenny Teeson, who discovered that she was raped by her husband when she was unconscious. He had video taped the incident. Due to the loophole, the county prosecutor was unable to pursue criminal sexual conduct charges due to the marital relationship.
