Question: I have a flat in Kolkata which is rented out. Can I get a home loan of Rs5 lakhs for registration of house and Rs3 lakhs for renovation? If yes which banks give such loans? Is the repayment eligible for IT rebate?
Answer: Yes you can apply for "loan against property" i.e. you can take a loan against the property which is let out or you can apply for a home renovation loan or a personal loan. But you are not eligible for any tax deductions.
