In the resolution that was passed unanimously in the state assembly, CM Siddaramiah has said that the state's priority is to provide drinking water to the people and the extra water will be released for irrigation purposes in the Cauvery basin. The government has also filed a review petition for the setting up of Cauvery Water Management Board. All the parties have extended their support for the decision since they have extra 6 TMC of water.
