Question: I booked a flat in Adhiraj Samayama by Adhiraj Constructions in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. After paying the booking amount of Rs 5 lakh plus taxes the builder informed me that the locality of the flat has been changed. I was in fact asked to shell out more money towards the new flat. But I refused to pay as the builder did I was in fact asked to shell out more money towards the new flat. But I refused to pay as the builder did not provide the detailed layout of the new flat. Now, the builder is refusing to return the booking amount and the developers are not responding. Kindly advice what steps I should take to get my money back.
Answer: If the builder changes the location layout, then you can file a complaint in consumer court, ask for a refund of money with interest and demand compensation for harassment. Builder cannot change the location layout.
