Q: I bought a house in Pune in 2011 for Rs 23 lakh. I took a loan from SBI with an EMI of Rs 21,000. I currently have enough money to foreclose the loan in total. I want to take a loan to buy a property in Lucknow worth Rs 49 lakh. Should I foreclose my previous loan and take a new loan or should I use the money to make down payment for new property?
A: One of the options could be that he uses the surplus money to completely close the existing loan and take a larger loan for the Lucknow property. The second option could be he uses the surplus money for the Lucknow flat and therefore take a lower amount of loan. The third option is he takes a regular loan in Lucknow and invest this surplus cash.
