Q: I have taken a home loan from a bank. The date of disbursement was November 29 but the cheque was prepared on December 2 and was handed over to me on December 5. The bank is charging me the interest from Nov 29. Is it right?
A: This typically one of the situations wherein the lender tries to sneak in extra charges. If you are an alert customer, they won’t do it. The best way is to protest against this. Stop talking to people over phone. Go to the lender’s website, and lodge an official grievance along with the details and threaten that if this is not solved then you will approach the banking ombudsman.
