The Karnataka Government has finally bowed down to public opinion and has decided to scrap the controversial VVIP steel flyover project. The move comes in the backdrop of allegations that kickbacks from this project have been paid to the Congress high command and Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah's family. As the 1761 crore project was allegedly proposed to benefit handful of VVIPs and would have resulted in cutting of over 812 trees.
