Farmers of the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatan in Maharashtra have expressed their discontent, over the state government's move to waive off Rs 34,000 crore as loans for the farmers.

Raju Shetti, founder of one of the farmer unions in Maharashtra, claims that the state government's move has not taken into consideration the loans taken for machineries and farming. He has also said that the amount of loan waived off is far from reality and that it will not provide any relief to the distressed farmers.
