Nov 3, 20173:35Now PlayingThe Supreme Court has pulled up banks and mobile telephone companies and directed them to mention the deadline in SMS’s sent to customers on linking their accounts and mobile numbers to the Aadhaar. The apex court, however, refused to pass an interim order staying the linking of Aadhaar with mobile numbers and bank accounts. The SC asked these institutions to avoid creating a panic by sending customers messages saying their accounts will be deactivated. The top court was hearing a plea from social activists to restrain the Centre from linking Aadhaar to bank accounts and mobile numbers.
