Discrepancies in the reported COVID-19 death toll from the actual numbers have alerted the state, as it will now start working on consolidated data. Earlier this week, several instances in Maharashtra recorded the death of COVID-19 patients as having occurred from other health conditions. The BMC had also issued a show-cause notice to the hospital regarding the same. The government has now decided to take stock of the serious situation and reconcile the data by creating a centralised system.
