4:03An IAS Officer Vijay Shankar who was also involved in the multi-crore IMA Ponzi scam was found dead at his residence in Bengaluru. He was arrested by the SIT last year for allegedly taking ₹ 1.5 crore bribes from the IMA, but was later released on bail. A month before, the CBI had sought permission to prosecute the officer; however, the suspended officer committed suicide today at his residence.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters. Vijay Shankar has been accused of taking a bribe of ₹ 1.5 crores from the prime accused in the IMA case, Mohammad Mansoor Khan.
