The IT Ministry has invoked its special power under Section 69 A of the Information Technology Act to ban these mobile applications. Various platforms that were popular among Indians like TikTok, WeChat, CamScanner, Shein are now banned. According to the Government, the applications were prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity to India. The mobile applications were compromising user privacy. This move has been one of the greatest moves after the Indian government asked various unions to stop endorsing Chinese products and applying a complete ban on Chinese goods.
