The pandal committee has decided to not install an idol this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic which has hit the state severely. Instead of the usual festivities the committee will instead organise a plasma donation camp to help the state overcome the COVID-19 crisis. The festival is the biggest cultural event of the state in the year. The decision is being hailed as hailed as a neccessary and positive measure to contain the spread of COVID in the state.
