Amid this, Delhi Deputy CM Manisha Sisodia, had earlier made the statement that by July the national capital will have over 5.5 lakh cases and overwhelm the healthcare infrastructure. Mirror Now, spoke to Sisodia on the COVID cases in the capital surging and the measures undertaken by the state government to combat the same. The statement had caused a political stir, especially as Home Minister Amit Shah said that the statement instilled undue panic and tension in the people. Following this, Amit Shah further said that he got involved in Delhi's COVID review and preparedness after the statement was made.
